Labatt Park

Labatt Park
Labatt Park (called Tecumseh Park in 1877) is possibly the oldest continuously used ballpark in the world. The London Tecumsehs ball club formed in about 1868 and started to play at the park when it was built in 1877.  The London Tigers (affiliated with the Detroit Tigers) played at Labatt Park from 1989 to 1993. It is currently home to the London Majors who play in the Intercounty Baseball League.

This illustration is one of the images used on the Painting Blackfriars map for next weekends event. For more information, see article in The London Yodeller.

Glencairn

On Wednesday, I played Glencairn Golf Club. Located near Milton, this course is said to be "the closest you can come without crossing the Atlantic". This course was designed by Thomas McBroom, opened in 2005 and has 27 holes. We played Leithfeild and Speyside nines. You never want to get in those pot bunkers! This was sketched whiles playing and coloured when I got home.

Rattlesnake

Yesterday, we played Rattlesnake Point Golf Club. A little drizzle during first nine holes, the sun finally came out for the drive home. Generous fairways, don't know how I missed so many! Large challenging greens, explains why I three putted so many times.

London Hunt Club

I had the pleasure of playing The London Hunt and Country Club today. Only enough time to do one quick sketch. Hole number 8, short par 3, over the gully. Perfect weather, not so prefect game! The greens are large and I found them to be extra challenging today, too many 3 putts.

Blackhorse Golf

Visited cottage just south of Kincardine and played Blackhorse Golf Course on the weekend. One of the best places to enjoy the sunsets over Lake Huron. Saturday at course was very hot and very busy, lots of time to sketch while playing.

Greystone Golf

Yesterday at Greystone Golf Course. Lots of elevation change and panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment in the background, make a beautiful course. The escarpment creates optical illusions making the putting very challenging!

Golf Season
